YOUR NEXT RADIO PROJECT
Build a solar-powered Meshtastic project with your selected board and optional GNSS. Assemble, configure and test it yourself.
Exchange short messages with other compatible Meshtastic nodes. Range depends on placement, terrain and radio settings.
The separate GNSS module adds satellite positioning. Its 8-pin cable is included; good sky visibility matters.
The 5 W panel supports a battery-powered outdoor project. Choose a suitable battery and plan for days with little sunlight.
The parts behind the project

01 / Energy and protection
A 5 W solar panel, enclosure, and charging controller form the framework for your outdoor node. The adjustable bracket makes it possible to point the panel towards the sun.
The enclosure is designed for Heltec V3, Heltec V4, and Mesh Node T114. Batteries are sold separately.

02 / The brain of the kit
The ESP32-S3R2 and SX1262 combine WiFi, Bluetooth LE, and LoRa on a single board. The OLED display provides status updates directly on the node.
16 MB of flash and 2 MB of PSRAM provide space for firmware and your own projects. Use the firmware for the correct V4 revision and select EU_868 in Meshtastic.

03 / Position
For Heltec V4: Connect the separate L76K module using the included 8-pin cable.
Add satellite positioning with the L76K, which supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS. Position the antenna with a clear view of the sky.
The 8-pin cable is included with the V4. The V3 requires manual configuration of the UART, power supply, and firmware; additional wiring or adapters are not included.

04 / Radio connection
A high-performance blade antenna for 863–870 MHz. The included adapter connects the antenna's RP-SMA connector to standard SMA.
The kit's pigtail allows the antenna connection to be routed from the board to a panel mount. The antenna is an alternative to the other included LoRa antennas; install one suitable antenna per radio connection.

05 / The connection between the parts
The 10 cm coaxial cable carries the LoRa signal from the board's U.FL/MHF1 connector to an SMA female connector on the enclosure.
The passive 50 Ω connection is suitable for 868 MHz projects. Snap the PCB connector into place, avoid sharp bends, and seal any new enclosure entry point.
