LM2596 DC-DC Step-Down Converter / Buck Module

If you need to reduce a voltage without wasting too much power in your circuit, the LM2596 module can help. This buck-type DC-DC converter efficiently produces a stable output voltage lower than its input voltage.
The module is intended for currents below 2A unless actively cooled. Built-in overtemperature protection shuts it down if it becomes too hot. If you don't need as much current, consider a smaller DC-DC converter such as this one.
LM2596 is a compact, practical module that handles the switching regulation. All you need to do is set the output voltage by turning its potentiometer.
This type of regulator is useful for:
- Reducing a voltage, for example from 5V to 3.3V
- Prototyping a simple, robust voltage-regulation system
The regulator has solder pads on both sides, allowing you to attach wires or solder the module directly onto a circuit board.
