Standard or transparent breadboard

The breadboard is available in standard and transparent versions. Both have the same dimensions and 830-contact layout, taking up the same space on your bench and supporting the same kinds of projects.

The transparent version lets you see the internal connections through the plastic. This makes it easier to understand how the contacts connect beneath the surface, particularly useful for teaching, demonstrations or a clearer visual overview of a circuit.

The transparent breadboard's contacts may feel tighter and stiffer than the standard version. Component leads and jumper wires can take more force to insert, especially when new. Once inserted, components generally stay firmly in place.

The standard version is often easier if you frequently move components, while the transparent version suits those who prioritise visibility and want to see and understand the internal construction.
