Check the module’s supply and output voltage against the controller’s input limits before connecting it. A 5V supply does not make the signal safe for a 3.3V GPIO or ADC; use suitable level/voltage conversion. Analogue signals require an ADC, which a standard Raspberry Pi computer does not include.
A simple, effective water-level sensor
This compact water-level sensor detects rising water or droplets. It measures water contact across parallel exposed conductors to determine the level. It converts water contact into an analogue signal that can be read directly by a Arduinodevelopment board to create a level alarm. It suits water and liquid-measurement projects, is easy to use and offers these features:
- Measures liquid level over a 0–40mm range
- Acts as a variable resistor whose resistance decreases in contact with water
- Two mounting holes make enclosure installation easy
