Check the module’s supply and output voltage against the controller’s input limits before connecting it. A 5V supply does not make the signal safe for a 3.3V GPIO or ADC; use suitable level/voltage conversion. Analogue signals require an ADC, which a standard Raspberry Pi computer does not include.
Capacitive soil moisture sensor / PH2.0-3P analogue sensor
A modern, corrosion-resistant method of measuring soil moisture. The electronics must be kept dry.
A practical soil moisture sensor that uses capacitance to measure moisture in soil. Its sensing electrodes are not exposed as they are on resistive soil moisture sensors, reducing electrode corrosion.
With its analogue output, you can use an Arduino, ESP or Raspberry Pi to report your potted plant's moisture level to the cloud.
