Measure Your Battery's Capacity
The ZB2L3 battery capacity tester measures discharged capacity under a defined load. It helps you compare batteries and assess how much charge they deliver during a controlled discharge test, rather than guessing from their label or resting voltage alone.
Straightforward operation makes it useful for testing suitable batteries within its voltage and current limits. A listed 6-ohm, 50W load resistor allows testing to begin after setup. Fully charge the battery first and select a safe cutoff voltage for its chemistry; the resistor can become hot.

How to use it
- Fully charge the batterybefore measuring its discharge capacity.
- Connect the battery: Connect positive to input (+) and negative to input (–). Check polarity—reverse connection can damage the circuit.
- Connect the load: Connect the supplied 6-ohm resistor to output (+) and output (–).
- Connect power: Supply the tester through Micro USB using a suitable USB power adapter rather than a computer port.
- Start the test: Press “OK”. The tester proposes a cutoff based on the battery voltage. Verify that this cutoff is safe for the battery chemistry before starting. The display flashes three times to indicate test start.
- Manual setting (optional): To set the cutoff manually, adjust it using “+” or “–”, then press “OK” to start.
- Monitor the test: During testing, values include voltage (V), discharge current (A), discharged capacity (Ah), discharge time (min) and cutoff voltage (E). Use “+” and “–” to change the displayed value.
- Test completion: When battery voltage falls below the cutoff, the tester disconnects the load. The capacity (Ah) flashes, showing the measured discharged capacity.
- View results: Press any button to stop the flashing. Use “+” and “–” to review cutoff voltage, average voltage, average current, capacity and discharge time.
- Prepare for the next battery: Press “OK” to reset before testing another battery. Recheck its chemistry, polarity and cutoff settings.
