This compact device provides eight bidirectional channels, allowing you to control multiple I2C devices or channels through one set of SCL/SDA lines from your controller. It directs communication to the selected channel, helping avoid address conflicts.
Have eight identical sensors but only one bus? The TCA9548A lets you connect one sensor per channel (0–7), avoiding I2C peripheral address conflicts. It is a useful solution for operating multiple sensors or other I2C devices on the same controller bus, including devices with identical addresses.

- Eight channels, one bus: Allows up to 8 downstream I2C channels to communicate through one upstream I2C bus—useful when several identical sensors or devices are needed.
- Built-in reset: Includes a RESET pin for recovery from timeouts or incorrect operation without switching the power off.
- Power-On Reset: All channels are deselected at startup.
- Voltage compatibility: Supports 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V and 5V devices on different channels, allowing communication between different voltage domains when correctly wired.
- 5V tolerant: I/O pins tolerate up to 5V, supporting appropriately designed mixed-voltage I2C buses.
