A very small infrared time-of-flight distance sensor!
A small, efficient module for a wide range of distance measurement projects. Unlike an ultrasonic distance sensor, it uses infrared light instead of sound, making it much smaller and somewhat more sensitive.
The module communicates over I2C. Check the carrier board’s regulator and logic levels before connecting; VL53L0X chip specifications do not establish 5V tolerance or level conversion on this module.
The module is easy to use thanks to open-source libraries, and offers the following features:
- Measures the physical distance between the sensor and an object, such as a hand or wall
- Operates in the invisible infrared range
- Small and easy to install in an enclosure using its 2 mounting holes
