KY-024 Hall-effect magnetic sensor with comparator

KY-024 provides both an analogue Hall voltage (AO) and a digital comparator signal (DO). The potentiometer sets the DO threshold. Chip supply limits do not establish the whole module’s rating or safe GPIO levels. Check the stocked variant, AO voltage and DO pull-up before connection to ESP32/Pico or other 3.3V logic; use an ADC and level/voltage conversion as needed. A Raspberry Pi computer requires an external ADC for AO.

Detect a nearby magnet!

The KY-024 Hall-effect sensor is practical for projects that need contactless sensing, and its built-in comparator helps you get started right away.

A compact, efficient Hall-effect sensor for magnetic-measurement projects. It is easy to use and offers these features:

  • Built-in bipolar Hall-effect sensor with high sensitivity
  • Analogue output lets a microcontroller read the sensor directly
  • A built-in LM393 comparator automatically switches the digital output when the sensor level exceeds the threshold set with the potentiometer

Technical specifications

IC

LM393, SS49E

Operating voltage

Module limits must be verified; the previous 2.7–6.5V listing is not evidence for the whole board.

I/O voltage

AO depends on magnetic field and supply; DO depends on pull-up. Not a guaranteed 3.3V output.
Maximum current consumption 20mA
